Bake at Home Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies - Remember to Read All the Words - Just Bake Man, Bake
If you don't bake much or are getting started, a word of reassurance...if you read all the words in the recipe and follow directions [this may be easier for some husbands than other folks]...you will be fine. I started late to baking and seem to be doing pretty okay. My kids don't complain much and my opines that the children have no idea how well they eat. As I long as I remember my motto.. Don't think...it hurts the team.... I am in pretty good shape.
So how do you make super duper cookies? Here is how I make my first chocolate chocolate chip cookies. They didn't last twenty-four hours ....everyone ate more than one, kids, the wife, the mother, even the mother-in-law. So, lets jump right into the recipe.
I did what I usually do. I read two or three recipes and then made something up. This is what came out of the oven...and disappeared into the cookie holes of my family. The recipe:
* 1/4 pound (1 stick butter)
* 1 cup of light brown sugar
* 1/3 cup cocoa powder
* 1 egg
* 1 tsp vanilla
* 1 cup flour (I used bread flour because its what was at home)
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 1/2 tsp baking powder
* 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. I use a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. As Eloise would say, I love love love the Kitchen Aid mixer.
Cream the butter. Add the sugar and mix until smooth.
Add the cocoa powder, egg, vanilla, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until it is well incorporated.
Add the chocolate chips and mix.
Take a small scoop (It all depends on the size of cookie you want) I used about a teaspoon, and scoop out onto a greased cookie sheet. (I used the Reynolds Wrap Non-Stick Aluminum Foil - It Ruled).
Bake about 8 minutes. Remove to cooling rack.
Dip in milk and eat. Or just eat if you are lactose intolerant.
Remember, always read all the words!
