Heavenly Cream Pies

Making pies if one of the great joys of cooking. Not only are pies good to eat, but they are simple enough to make or change up if you want to try something new. One of my favorite types of cold weather pies are cream pies. There is just something about that rich creamy taste that warms the body during these cold, winter months.

Here are two of my favorite recipes for cream pies:

· Sandra's Butternut Cream Pie

· Alabama Cantaloupe Cream Pie

Sandra's Butternut Cream Pie Recipe

This is a great winter crop pie. You need a butternut squash, a package of cream cheese, a fourth cup of sugar, two tablespoons of caramel ice cream topping, cinnamon, salt, ginger, cloves, a cup of milk, a package of instant pudding, a pastry shell, whipped cream, and coconut flakes. Like other pies you need to make the inside first. Cut up the squash and microwave it with hot water until it is tender. Mash the pulp and beat in the cream cheese, sugar, caramel, cinnamon, salt, ginger, cloves, and milk and pudding. Refrigerate mixture in the pastry shell and serve with whipped cream and coconut!

Alabama Cantaloupe Cream Pie Recipe

This is a great desert pie. You need two cups of vanilla wafer crumbs, a half cup of butter, a package of vanilla pudding, 2.5 cups of milk, a cantaloupe, and a cup of heavy cream. Heat your oven to 375F before you begin. In your pie plate line it with vanilla wafer crumbs and the butter, and toast. In another pot make the pudding mix, mixing in the cantaloupe and milk. Refrigerate this mixture for half an hour then pour into pie case. Serve with whipped cream and enjoy with your friends and family!
